PV Panels

PV panels, or photovoltaic panels, are a type of solar panel designed to convert sunlight into electricity. They are made up of solar cells, which are sandwiched between layers of protective material and generate electricity when exposed to sunlight.

There are two main types of PV panels: monocrystalline and polycrystalline.

  • Monocrystalline panels are made of a single, high-purity silicon crystal and have a black color. They are more energy-efficient and tend to have a longer lifespan but are also more expensive.

  • Polycrystalline panels are made of multiple silicon crystals and have a blue color. They are less expensive than monocrystalline panels but are slightly less efficient.

PV panels are typically installed on rooftops or in open spaces and can be used in both residential and commercial applications. They come in different sizes and are rated by their wattage output, indicating how much electricity they can produce under specific conditions.

PV panels are a significant component of solar energy systems and are becoming increasingly popular as technology advances and prices continue to decrease.
